Ace the Mississippi Drivers Test 2026 – Hit the Road with Confidence!

Before backing out of a diagonal parking space, it is important to wait until the way is clear and look back while backing up. This is the correct answer because it emphasizes the importance of checking your surroundings to ensure there are no vehicles or pedestrians in your path. This action helps prevent accidents and ensures the safety of yourself and others. Additionally, quickly reversing without checking the rearview mirrors (option A) is dangerous and can lead to collisions. While turning on hazard lights before backing up (option B) can be a good practice to alert other drivers of your intentions, it is not the primary action to ensure safety when backing out of a parking space. Signaling for other drivers to stop and yield the way (option D) may not be effective or necessary since it is your responsibility to ensure it is safe to back out. Therefore, the best course of action is to wait until the way is clear and look back while backing up.
